In case you’re just joining us, today is Day 91 of the 365 Days self portrait project. The idea here is to shoot a self portrait every day for a year. My personal rule is that it’s not simply one photo per day, but one photo every day. So even on days like yesterday, where I failed to get the picture posted, I still take the picture (and yesterday, I’d even finished everything but the posting) on that day. I haven’t missed a day yet, and don’t intend to.
Ned asked me today (hi Ned!) what would happen if I missed a day. I don’t know. I don’t intend to find out.
The past few days, I’ve been adding words to the picture. (I’ve also done a mini-theme of silhouettes one week, mirrors one week, and the SPC monthly theme once weekly, March being Headless.) Today, I chose my words first (inspired by the bright, beautiful day outside), and then took the shot. I wonder if you can tell the difference.
Here’s today’s:
Nope, will not accept this photograph. You have to do this over. The idea is exceptional, the photograph not. You need to bring the photograph up to the level of the idea. I think you can do better, AND expect you to.
Sorry, must be the Merlot speaking.
Some work better than others. But it’s too late to re-shoot that day. I can merely re-consider the concept at a later date…
