The tree was about 80 feet tall. The roots, outside now, are taller than I am. I couldn’t put my arms around the trunk in the foreground.
It’s a co-worker’s house. The tree destroyed it. About a dozen of us joined her and her family tonight in packing what could be salvaged and moving it into a POD temporarily. At this point, she doesn’t know what’s going to happen; she’s waiting on word from the insurance company.
It was hard work. We had to get things out before the storms came. And storms did come, though not over her home: whilst I was helping here, a tornado (or not a tornado, depending on who you talk to) tore through my neighborhood. I didn’t know until I reached all the swirling police lights. It apparently put a tree through someone’s home. It did not come far enough down the road to reach me.
I’m tired.
